The weather was dense and dark both in my head and the sky. The shine of red and yellow flashlights from the vehicles blinding my eyes, usual loud honking of horns. Red light turned green for pedestrians and I crossed the usual road from my office to the apartment.

I opened my bag to take out my earphones and suddenly a shrill voice of vehicle rang into my ears, I turned to look; the guy was dragged by his vehicle right under my feet, making me jump. Then I saw a woman was lying numb far away on the road, people were rushing towards the both of them.

For a moment, it felt like the world stopped right there. Everyone helped the young guy up, his face was white, his forehead was sweaty and his life flashed in front of his eyes, he was scared of dying.

I stood there frozen for a while, not knowing what to do. I looked at the woman and ran towards her, helped with other people get her up. She was numb, her body was lifeless, she was groaning with pain and didn’t want to die. Her husband cried and asking her over and over again “Are you okay?”
